a Part from My Life !

Phew, what a year! This year has been weird, unusual, uncertain, abnormal, emotionally draining, and the list goes on. It has been a wild ride until now and I am sure all of us are ready for this year to end! We all feel like nothing good has happened this year. However in darkness there is always a ray of light. So I went back into my memories of this year to find that ray of light. I would like to take you through it and please share yours in the comments below, I would love to see it. This is my 20th blog! 2020 has multiple meanings but this 20th blog is a great milestone for me.I feel extremely grateful that I can express my thoughts, experiences and opinion to all of you. This blog is extremely close to my heart as it is about a very special group that I am so happy I am a part of. As you all know( or not know) I am part of the Peerancheruvu Runners or better known by the acronym PCR. We all live in the Pee'ran'cheruvu area and are passionate about running and leading an active and healthy life. We conduct Annual Anniversary runs on the first Sunday of December celebrating the number of years PCR has been going strong for. This year's event took place on 6th of December but rather than us all assembling to run, we ran our own ways and assembled (safely) for a good cause. This lockdown has made us face some really tough times. Even for people who had all the basic necessities and even luxuries. This year has become a year where I became much more grateful and appreciative for everything I had because I never lacked anything at any point of time. We are taught about our fundamental rights from a very young age. As far as I remember we were taught about it for the first time in 6th grade. Fundamental rights are the liberty given to us by the constitution. Without them we would have nothing to protect us. We are taught about it so that we can be aware of our rights and so that no one can exploit us. One of the recent ones that was added to the constitution was the right to information. The basic object of the Right to Information Act is to empower the citizens, promote transparency and accountability in the working of the Government, contain corruption, and make our democracy work for the people in real sense. It goes without saying that an informed citizen is better equipped to keep necessary vigil on the instruments of governance and make the government more accountable to the governed. On 19th and 20th of September 2020, I took part in my first-ever Model United Nation , better known as MUN. Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries. The delegates attempt to solve real-world problems with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. The one that I took part in is called the International MUN or IMUN . Out of the blue a friend of mine suggested it and my exams were too ending that week so I thought why not give it a shot. Taking part in an MUN has always been very high on my to-do list and I registered very early without exploring the event as I thought the seats would be filled if I would be delayed. MS Dhoni has retired ! The day we were all afraid of has come! I am deeply pained by this fact but at the same time I can’t help but smile at what has been an incredible journey of 16 years ! Growing up I didn’t have a clue about cricket and could only associate it with two names Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. I was a fan of Dhoni from the start but not because I watched him play or knew anything about him but because everyone around me loved him. As you all know I love doing activities outside academics. Taking part in extracurricular activities is always fun and it is even more thrilling if it is something you have never done before. Last year our school informed us about an event organised by Metamorphosis called Global Schoolpreneurship Summit 2019 . It asked us to come up with a creative business idea and pitch it to the judges. I have no experience in economics or commerce or any sort of business(other than the fact that my dad is a marketing professor haha) but this caught my eye and I couldn't help but think about it. That night I told my parents about it and they also felt like this was a nice opportunity. But for taking part, I needed to come up with an idea, make a presentation and present it. Doesn’t look like the coronavirus is going to leave us anytime soon. ICSE has cancelled our boards exams due to the current condition so I am officially done with my 10th exams after 16 months. Finally! Now I am officially in 11th. It was a very confusing 3 months when I was stuck in between.
