a Part from My Life !

MS Dhoni has retired ! The day we were all afraid of has come! I am deeply pained by this fact but at the same time I can’t help but smile at what has been an incredible journey of 16 years ! Growing up I didn’t have a clue about cricket and could only associate it with two names Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. I was a fan of Dhoni from the start but not because I watched him play or knew anything about him but because everyone around me loved him. It was only when I started watching and understanding cricket that I realised the reason.  There is a very interesting book I would like to suggest every cricket fan to read. It is called “Numbers Do n’t lie”. It is written by Aakash Chopra and is an incredible read in all sorts of ways. This is a question that very often pops in my head. Why do I love cricket ? Do I see cricket for the thrill of it ? Well yes I do but that is just one reason.  I love cricket because I am proud to see my countrymen on the field making our nation proud.  They inspire millions of Indians , they prove that we must never give up on our dreams however unachieveable it may seem. Cricketers are an epitome of hard work, discipline, strength, perseverance and bravery. I say brave because they are brave enough to make a choice to follow their dreams. The game of cricket is like life. It throws bouncers at you. You have to duck them. It might startle you but you must be ready to play the next ball. It could be a juicy half volley which could be hit to the boundary. But unfortunately you don’t get many half volleys in life ,do you ?
