Why do I love cricket ?

This is a question that very often pops in my head. Why do I love cricket ? Do I see cricket for the thrill of it ? Well yes I do but that is just one reason.
I love cricket because I am proud to see my countrymen on the field making our nation proud.
They inspire millions of Indians , they prove that we must never give up on our dreams however unachieveable it may seem. Cricketers are an epitome of hard work, discipline, strength, perseverance and bravery. I say brave because they are brave enough to make a choice to follow their dreams.
The game of cricket is like life. It throws bouncers at you. You have to duck them. It might startle you but you must be ready to play the next ball. It could be a juicy half volley which could be hit to the boundary. But unfortunately you don’t get many half volleys in life ,do you ? You might get a Yorker , but you can hit a helicopter shot six , MS Dhoni style. But it always won’t connect will it? You could miss the bowl and get bowled or get caught near the boundary rope just because you didn’t get that extra strength (like Hardik Pandya in semi final 2019 World Cup . Sob). But is that the end ? It is not. You always have another match another chance to prove yourself. You might struggle because you are still not over your previous disappointment but we must not dwell on them.
We would have no MS Dhoni or would have won the World Cup, champions trophy and 20-20 World Cup if he would have given up after getting out on a duck on his debut. We would have not seen the master class by Rohit Sharma in the 2019 World Cup if he would have given up after he was not included in the 2011 World Cup squad. We would miss the cover drives of Virat Kohli if he would have given up on life after his father’s death.

There are millions of people who want to do the impossible. Well why not ? You can make it possible ! You can be whatever if you have the will to do it ! And that's what makes Cricket like Life !
